Salman Khan declares war on Hrithik Roshan

Salman Khan has not taken Hrithik Roshan’s criticism of him lightly. The actor has now taken on Hrithik and his films as well. Salman has told the producer of his film— head honcho of T Series Bhushan Kumar— to release their next biggie ‘ Ready’ right opposite Hrithik Roshan’s film ‘ Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’. The film features Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol apart from his former lady love Katrina Kaif.

This conflict certainly doesn’t augur well for a lot of people in Bollywood. The industry seems to have split into groups after news of this has come out. Salman had earlier worked in ‘ Karan Arjun’ directed by Hrithik’s father Rakesh Roshan in which Hrithik Roshan was an assistant as well.


Salman Khan who was once Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s favourite having done films like ‘ Khamoshi’ and ‘ Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ was miffed with Bhansali over not being cast in ‘ Devdas’. And even though he and Kareena Kapoor were screen tested and finalised for ‘ Bajirao Mastani’, Bhansali shelved the film when he saw the two being cast together by Priyadarshan in ‘ Kyon Ki’. And when opportunity came his way Salman wasted no time in commenting on how the ‘ Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ ending was not to his liking and how Bhansali thought that he was not mature enough to be cast in ‘ Devdas’. But the story did not end here. When Bhansali made ‘ Guzaarish’ with Hrithik and Salman’s ex girlfriend and now Bachchan bahu, Aishwarya Rai, Salman was quick to tear into the box office dud.

“ Film ko ek kutta bhee dekhne nahin gaya,” ( Even a dog did not go and watch the film) was how Salman put it.

Needless to say, Bhansali and Hrithik were both very upset by the remark. Bhansali was quoted saying that he did not expect Salman to behave in such a fashion. Salman retorted that there was little he could do if Bhansali was miffed with him and he would have to be content with the two films—‘ Khamoshi’ and ‘ Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ that he got to make with the filmmaker.

Hrithik Roshan too jumped into the controversy by saying that it wasn’t fair to talk like that about a sensitive film that flopped and that he expected a hug from Salman the next time because he knew that Salman loved him a lot and it must have been a momentary lapse of judgement. This remark certainly hasn’t endeared him to Salman and the war rages on.
