Kingfisher calendar model Nargis Fakhri all set to woo audience

She is vivacious, ultra sexy and she is all set to get B-town’s established beauties insecure. At 31, Kingfisher calendar model Nargis Fakhri has proved that one’s age and origin has no role to play as far as making a debut in films is concerned.

The half-Czech, half-Pakistani model has already made a name for herself in Bollywood, without even a single film to her credit. She is currently in the Capital along with co- star Ranbir Kapoor shooting for their upcoming film, Rockstar, directed by Jab We Met director, Imtiaz Ali.

In an industry where the popularity of an actress does not entirely depend on her talent, but rather her marital status and age, the 30- plus actresses are making sure that the spotlight is not entirely hogged by the young breed of industry babes. Bollywood insiders feel that actresses, after crossing the 30- year- old milestone, either get too success- oriented or simply opt out of films.

“ There is no direct competition between actresses who have a decade in age difference between them. With a few exceptions, actresses who turn 30 are offered less work as compared to the actors in the industry,” said Komal Nahata, editor and publisher of Film Information . It’s not news that most actresses from the industry are reinventing themselves even in their thirties. Vidya Balan was in her late twenties when she debuted in Parineeta . Meanwhile, her No one Killed Jessica co- star Rani Mukherjee has adopted a new avatar for both the film as well as the various promotional events organised for it.

Kareena Kapoor looked her best in her thirties with her size zero bod. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kajol Devgn are delivering hits like Robot and My name is Khan in spite of their married tags.

Seems like the leading ladies have nothing left to prove. But they will surely have panic attacks when full package models such as Nargis earn a ticket to mainstream Bollywood.
