Maddelacheruvu Suri killed : Gangster who inspired Rakta Charitra, shot dead



Maddelacheruvu Suri alias G Suryanarayana Reddy (45) an accused in the former minister and Telugu Desam party leader P Ravindra, was murdered today in usufguda area of Hyderabad.

He was shot from a close range in the evening at 5.30 pm. He has sustained two bullets in the head. His driver informed that Suri was shot in the car with a pistol equipped with a silencer, in which they were traveling. The deceased was returning to his home after meeting his advocate in Sanath Nagar.

Suri was camping in Hyderabad for the last 45 days in an apartment in Madhapur. It has come to be known that his henchman Bhanu has fled from the scene of offence. He was not traced so far and it is being suspected that he was the assailant.

Suri was accompanied by his driver Madhu and Bhanu when the incident has taken place. Soon after the fire, driver has driven Suri to Apollo hospital, where he was announced dead.

He was on the bail after being accused and arrested in the murder of former minister and Telugu Desam party leader P Ravindra. Suri was given conditional bail 8 months ago on health conditions. It might be recalled that Ravindra was murdered in January 2005 at Ananthapuram of Andhra Pradesh.

Suri made a failed attempt to murder Ravindra by blasting a car bomb in Jubilee Hills in 1994. He was sentenced for nine years in the jail. He completed it recently and it has been alleged that had planned murder of Ravindra from the jail while undergoing imprisonment.
