The 17th edition of 'Star Screen Awards 2011' was held with great pomp. The award ceremony honours the best talents of Bollywood. And this time around, the super successful, superstar of the year, Salman Khan, has bagged an award for the best actor for his role of Chulbul Pandey in the all time blockbuster 'Dabangg' by people's choice.
The star pipped another superstar Shah Rukh Khan who was also in the race for the same category for ' My Name Is Khan', apart from many other good actors. Salman's exgirlfriend has been the winner of the people's choice best actress award. Low budget film ' Udaan' has bagged the best film award and its director Vikramaditya Motwane has got the best director for this film.
The ' Dabangg' success even got Sonakshi Sinha the award of the most promising newcomer female award and the new entrant in Bollywood, Ranveer Singh (' Band Baaja Baaraat'), has got an award for most promising newcomer male .
