The whole world awaits the first solar eclipse including India which would be one of the four solar eclipses expected in this year. The partial solar eclipse with a a meteor shower will begin at 12:10:11 IST and end at 16:30:54 IST. Some parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, UP, Delhi, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir would be able to view the eclipse. The Quadrantid shower is usually experienced when the planet travels through the debris left by a comet. The shower is expected to produce a large number of meteors within the short time, before dawn on Jan 3. Experts beleive that there will be meteor shower at the rate of 100 per hour however we might only see half of them as they will adiate low on the horizon.

After this we will witness the total lunar eclipse which will take place on June 15 and will be visible from India, the Middle East, Africa and southern Europe. People are advised to take the usual precautions during the eclipse out of which utmost important is to cover your eyes and do not watch the eclipse with the naked eyes.
