Salman Khan was to be in Dhobi Ghat

After we saw Makrand Deshpande’s ‘Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu’ that had influence of King Khan, we have another movie lined up which will have Salman Khan’s reference. Salman is a part of Kiran Rao’s ‘ Dhobi Ghat’. No no, Sallu is not in a guest appearance in the film but the lead actor Prateik Babbar is shown as his huge fan in the movie.

Prateik is shown to idolise Salman in ‘Dhobi Ghat’. He plays a huge Salman fan who loves body building, wears a bracelet like Sallu and also wishes to be an actor like him. Munna (Prateik) even has posters of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in his room. Ironically, when the film was being shot, Salman and Katrina were dating each other.
Says the director Kiran Rao, “ I love Salman and I can say Prateik’s character in the movie is a tribute to him. We even used Aishwarya Rai’s eyes in the movie.” The director also wanted Salman to give a special appearance in ‘ DG’ but had to drop the idea.

“ I am a huge fan of Salman Khan. His popularity is universal. He also has huge influence on people. We thought of asking him to give a guest appearance (because of Munna), but that didn’t gel well with the script,” concludes Kiran.
