Today Kerala celebrates the 54th Kerala Piravi which marks the birth of the state of Kerala. Kerala Was honored with the title of State on November 1, 1956 and since that day, 1st November is celebrated as Kerala Piravi Dinam (day).
Kerala Piravi in Malayalam means the Day Kerala was formed in the earth. Before the Kerala was created in 1956, it was a three Independence provinces named Malabar, Cochin and Travancore. Kerala originally got its name after the first ruler, Keralian Thamboran, who ruled one of these Independent provinces in the early Centuries.
